US ISP IPv6 support › Verizon
Does Verizon Fios support IPv6?
Yes. Verizon Fios provides native dual-stack IPv6 alongside IPv4. If you see no IPv6, the router setting is the first thing to check.

How Verizon delivers IPv6
- The Fios router receives an IPv6 prefix from Verizon by DHCPv6 prefix delegation (a /56) and advertises a /64 to your devices.
- Devices connected to the router get IPv6 automatically through SLAAC.
Getting IPv6 on your own router
- On a Verizon router, check that IPv6 is enabled in its network settings.
- On your own router connected to the Fios ONT, set the WAN IPv6 to DHCPv6 with prefix delegation. Requesting a /56 lets the router create several /64 subnets.
- Restart the router after changing the setting so it requests a new IPv6 lease.
If the test finds no IPv6
- If IPv6 still fails after enabling it, release and renew the router’s WAN connection or restart the ONT and router.
- The numbers on this page combine Verizon’s networks AS701 and AS6167.
About these numbers
The measured rate is the share of connectivity tests on this site, run from Verizon connections in the United States, in which IPv6 worked. Source: Verizon networks AS701 and AS6167 combined. Tests are counted, not people, so someone who tests several times is counted several times; no IP addresses are stored. A rate below 100% usually means some customers have IPv6 switched off on their router or use a router that does not request IPv6, not that the network lacks IPv6.
